standardizedinterfaces.Thissectiondescribesboththeinterfacesandhowtousethem.Theinterfacesare
accessedusingTCP/IPprotocol.
Beforeyoubegin
Forinitialsetupinformation,referChapter4“GettingstartedwithRemoteManagementModule”onpage7.
Beforeyoulogin,youmustenabletheintendeduser.Theexamplesinthischapterwilluseuser“root”,but
otherusernamesandpasswordscouldbeused.
TheRemoteManagementModuleadd-oncardmaybeaccessedusingastandardJavaenabledweb
browser.Y oumayusetheHTTPprotocolorasecureencryptedconnectionviaHTTPS.
Clientbrowsers
Inordertoaccessthewebconsoleusingasecurelyencryptedconnection,youwillneedabrowserthat
supportstheHTTPSprotocol.StrongsecurityisonlyassuredbyusingaCipherStrength(encryption)of128
-Bit.Someolderbrowsersmaynothaveastrong128Bitencryptionalgorithm.
IfyouareusingWindows*InternetExplorer6.0orhigher,youcanverifystrongencryptionbyopeningthe
“Help/About”menutoreadaboutthekeylengththatiscurrentlyactivated.
InordertousetheRemoteConsole(KVM)windowofyourmanagedserver,youmustinstalltheJava
RuntimeEnvironment*(JRE*)version1.6orhigher.
Note:TheWebConsoleisdesignedforascreensizeof1280pixelsby1024pixelsorlarger.Insmaller
screens,thebrowserwilldisplayslidercontrolstoenabletheusertoseethefullcontentofeachwebpage.
Loggingin
Step1.EntertheconguredIPaddressoftheRemoteManagementModuleadd-oncardintoyourweb
browser.
Forexample:

Touseasecureconnection,typeinasthefollowingexample:
https://10.223.131.36/
ThiswilltakeyoutotheRemoteManagementModulemoduleloginpage.
Step2.Loginbyenteringtheusernameandpassword.
Forexample:
•Username=root
•Password=superuser
Note:TheUsernameandPasswordarecasesensitive.Anyusernameandpasswordcouldbe
used(exceptanonymous).
Step3.ClickLogintoviewtheRemoteManagementModulehomepage.
