Beforeyoubegin,printalltherelatedinstructionsorensurethatyoucanviewthePDFversiononanother
computerforreference.
Notes:
•Dependingonthemodel,yourservermightlookslightlydifferentfromtheillustrationsinthistopic.
•Theillustrationsinthefollowingprocedureshowthefrontpanelboardfor3.5-inchharddiskdrives.For
thefrontpanelboardfor2.5-inchharddiskdrives,thereplacementprocedureissimilar.
•ThefrontpanelboardisextremelysensitivetoESD.Ensurethatyoureadandunderstand“Handling
static-sensitivedevices”onpage62firstandcarefullyperformtheoperation.
Toreplacethefrontpanelboard,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Prepareyourserver.See“Removingorextendingtheserverfromtherackcabinet”onpage63.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage63.
4.Locatethefrontpanelboard.
5.Disconnectthefront-panel-boardcablesfromthesystemboard.See“Systemboardcomponents”
onpage37
.
6.Removethetwoscrewsthatsecurethefrontpanelboardandthencarefullyremovethefrontpanel
boardfromthechassis.
