1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Prepareyourserver.See“Removingorextendingtheserverfromtherackcabinet”onpage69.
3.Removealltheinstalleddrivesanddummytrays(ifany)fromthereardriveassembly.See“Installingor
replacingahot-swapdrive”onpage134.
4.Recordthecableroutingandcableconnectionsandthendisconnectcablesfromthebackplane.
5.Removetherearbackplane/cageassembly.See“Removingtherearbackplane/cageassembly”on
page142.
6.Removethetwoscrewsthatsecurethebackplane.Then,liftthebackplanefromthecage.
