Systemboardjumpers
Ajumperisashortlengthofconductorusedtosetuporadjustprintedcircuitboards,suchasthesystem
boardofacomputer.Ajumperusuallyisencasedinanon-conductiveblockofplasticforconvenientuse
andtoavoidanypossibledamagetoalivecircuit.Jumperpinsarrangedingroupsonthesystemboardare
calledjumperblocks.Whentwoormorejumperpinsarecappedwithajumpercap,anelectricalconnection
ismadebetweenthepins.Asaresult.theequipmentisinstructedtoactivatecertainsettingsaccordingly.
Thefollowingillustrationshowsajumperinthedefaultsettingposition(pin1andpin2).Thedefaultsetting
positionisthecorrectpositionfornormaloperation.
