3.Removeanypartsorcablesthatmaypreventyouraccesstothesystemboard.

4.Disconnecttheheatsinkandfanassemblycablefromthemicroprocessorfanconnectoronthesystem

board.See“Locatingpartsonthesystemboard”onpage76.

5.Removetheheatsinkandfanassembly.See“Replacingtheheatsinkandfanassembly”onpage80.

6.Placetheheatsinkandfanassemblyonitssidesothatthethermalgreasedoesnotcomeincontact

withanything.

7.Liftthesmallhandle3andopentheretainer1toaccessthemicroprocessor2.
