TheOSAppsListsettingwilldenewhatles,folders,orletypescomprisetheoperatingsystemand
applications.Thislecanbecustomizedbytheadministratorandadefaultexternallewillbeprovided.
Whentheuserchoosestorecovertheoperatingsystem,theywillseeamenuthatallowsthemtochoose
Restore.
OnlywiththefollowingWindowsoptions:Onlylesthatmatchtherulescontainedinthisexternallewillbe
restored.Theadministratorcancustomizethecontentsofthisexternalle.

Becausethereisnowaytotransmitinformationthroughletransferore-mailfromtheRescueand
Recoveryenvironment,theenduserisdirectedtousethee-mailfunctionintegratedinthebrowser.The
loggingfunctionpackagesthelogeventsintoale,anddirectstheendusertoe-mailtheleafterheor
shecompletestherecoveryprocessandlogsontoWindows.Thelereceivedfromtheendusercreates
theReq115TroubleTicketXMLle,whichcombines(Current,HW,InvAgent,andPCDRdiagnosticlog
information),andwillbeplacedinalocationwhichcanbeeasilyfoundandaccessiblefromboththeRescue
andRecoveryenvironmentandoperatingsystem–C:\SWSHARE.
TheDiagnosticstoolavailableinthePredesktopAreaoftheRescueandRecoveryprogramaidsinproblem
determination.OutputfromtestsperformedbytheDiagnosticstoolarestoredinamannerwhichcanbe
viewedortransmittedtoahelpdesk.
RescueandRecoveryinterfaceswitching
TheRescueandRecoveryuserinterfaceprovidestheoptiontoswitchbetweenthesimplieduserinterface
andtheadvanceduserinterface.Thesimplieduserinterfacehasafewbasicoptions,whiletheadvanced
userinterfacehasextendedoptions.Bydefault,youwillseethesimplieduserinterfaceeachtimethe
RescueandRecoveryprogramisstartedunlessthesettingisdisabled.
IftheSimpliedUserInterfacesettingisdisabled,theadvanceduserinterfacewillbedisplayedeachtime
theRescueandRecoveryprogramstarts.Youcandisablethesimplieduserinterfaceatthefollowing

Youcandisableinterfaceswitchingsothatauserwillnotbeabletoswitchbetweenthetwointerfaces.To
