IfyourcomputerisequippedwiththeIntegratedBluetoothfeatures,youcanenableordisablethefeatures
bypressingFn+F5.
IfyoupressFn+F5,alistofwirelessfeaturesisdisplayed.YoucanenableordisabletheBluetoothfeatures
withasingleclick.
InWindowsXP,youcanuseeitherThinkPadBluetoothwithEnhancedDataRateSoftware,ortheMicrosoft
Bluetoothsoftware.
Bydefault,ThinkPadBluetoothwithEnhancedDataRateSoftwareisinstalledonyourcomputer.
UsingBluetoothforthersttimeonyourcomputer
IfthisisthersttimeBluetoothhasbeenusedonyourcomputer,useeitherofthefollowingprocedures:
1.Double-clicktheMyBluetoothPlacesicononthedesktop,ortheBluetoothiconinthetaskbar.The
StartUsingBluetoothwindowopens,andsomevirtualdevicedriversareinstalledautomatically.
2.Waituntiltheinstallationofthedriversiscomplete.

1.Right-clicktheMyBluetoothPlacesicononthedesktop,ortheBluetoothiconinthetaskbar.
2.SelectStartUsingBluetooth.TheStartUsingBluetoothwindowopens,andsomevirtualdevice
driversareinstalledautomatically.
3.Waituntiltheinstallationofthedriversiscomplete.
SomeothervirtualdevicedriverswillbeinstalledondemandwhenyouusecertainBluetoothproles
forthersttime.
UsingtheMicrosoftBluetoothsoftware
IfyouareusingWindowsXPandwanttousetheMicrosoftstandardBluetoothfeatures,installthesoftware
byfollowingtheinstructionsin“InstallingtheMicrosoftBluetoothsoftwareinWindowsXP”onpage39.
ForinformationabouthowtousetheBluetoothfunction,doasfollows:
1.PressFn+F5toturnonBluetooth.
