thischeckboxiscleared,onlytherstusertobeenrolledonadevicecanbeanenrolleduser(although

administratorandservicetechnicianuserscanstillaccessthedeviceifneeded).

ThefollowingBIOS-levelpoliciescanbeselected:

•Showlastlogonaccountforhardwareaccount:attheBIOSuserlogonscreen,thelastuseraccount

tohaveloggedontotheBIOSisdisplayedbydefault.

•Promptforhardwareaccountonwarmboot:ifthedeviceisrestarted,theBIOSwillrequireauserlogin

toensurethatthesameuserisaccessingthedeviceaftertherestart.

IntheUpdateClientPolicydialogbox,alistofdevicesshowswhichdeviceswillhavethenewpolicy

appliedontheirnextstartup.Thedialogboxhasadefaultselectionofpolicysettings;ifyouhavechanged

thesettingsbutwanttoreturntotheoriginaldefaultsettings,clickResettodefault.

TheUpdateOptioncanbefoundintheUpdateClientPolicydialogbox.Thishasthreeoptions:

1.ApplytoServerSettingonly-Thisoptionwillcauseonlythepolicyontheservertobeupdated.Only

newlyregisteredHardwarePasswordManagerdeviceswillbeaffected.

2.GenerateRemoteActionsonly-Thisoptionwillgenerateremoteactionstoapplythepolicychanges

totheselectedcomputers.Thedefaultclientpolicywillnotchange.SonewlyregisteredHardware

PasswordManagerdeviceswillnotbeaffected.

3.Both(Default)-ThisoptionwillaffecttheselectedcomputersaswellasanynewlyregisteredHardware

PasswordManagerdevices.

Updatinghardwarepasswordsglobally

LenovoHardwarePasswordManagerprovidesglobalmanagementofdifferenthardwarepasswordsfor

HardwarePasswordManagerdevices.YoucanspecifythesamepasswordtobeusedbyallHardware

PasswordManagerdevices,oryoucanauto-generateadifferentpasswordforeachdevice.Thisfeature

managesthefollowingkindsofpasswords:

•SVP-Thesupervisorpasswordgivesauserfulladministratoraccesstoadevice,includingconguration

ofBIOSsettings.Itisasupersetofthepower-onpassword.

•POP-Thepower-onpasswordenablestheusertopoweronthedeviceandaccessitwithnormaluser

privileges.

•MHDP-Themasterharddiskpasswordenablestheusertoaccesstheharddiskandresettheuser

harddiskpassword.ItisasupersetoftheUHDP .

•UHDP-Theuserharddiskpasswordenablestheusertoaccesstheharddisk.

YoucanselectanyofthesefourtypesofpasswordstobeappliedtomanagedHardwarePasswordManager

devices.Ifyouselectapasswordtypeandwantalldevicestousethesamepassword,typethatpassword

inthetextbox.Ifyouwanteachdevicetohaveauniquepassword,selectthecheckboxforthatpassword

typebutleavethetextboxblank.

Ifyouhavemadechangesandwanttoreturntothedefault,clickResettodefault.Bydefault,allfour

passwordsaresetwithauniquelygeneratedpasswordforeachdevice.

AfteryouchangethesesettingsandclickOK,aremoteactiontaskiscreatedintheremoteactionstreelist

(intheUpdateCommonHardwarePasswordsfolder).Youcanclickthattasktoviewthestatusofthetaskas

itisappliedtotheHardwarePasswordManagerdevices.Underthattaskinthetree,thedevicesarelistedby

status:Active,Suspending,Failed,orSuccessful.YoucanalsoviewalldevicesintheAllDevicesfolder.

ToviewthecurrenthardwarepasswordsforaHardwarePasswordManagerdevicethathasbeentargeted

bythisremoteaction:
